Monthly Ketchup: November and December 2025

Monthly Ketchup: November and December 2025

Hey guess what? I fell behind because the end of the year got so busy. November was pretty much a preparation month. I did one event early that month and spent the rest of my time making new products. So… I’m just gonna skip November and head right over to December.

Before I do, I just want to say thank you to everyone that stopped by my booth. I love sharing my art with everyone and it means so much when someone buys my art. Thank you so much!

Events
December was a super busy month. In general I do 2 events a month. For December, I did 3! It was exhausting, but it was a strong finish to the year.

The first event was the Portland Night Market. I was very lucky to get into this event. My vendor friend, Sheeleyco got double booked with events and offered to split his booth with me in exchange for me running his booth for him. So naturally I took on the challenge. We used my booth setup and did a little modification to really split the booth in half. This was a 4 night event. Thursday was pretty good, even though it was slower, but I figured that’s how it would be. Friday and Saturday with really busy and Sunday slowed down but sales were still pretty consistent. Overall, this was a great event. It was great seeing so many people interested in the 2 types of art in the booth. I’m lucky that I knew Sheeleyco so well, because it was fairly easy to talk about his work and do my best to answer questions. If I find myself in this situation again down the road, I’d probably take the opportunity because it was fun and a great event to be part of.

The second event was all the way up in Seattle. This was about a 3.5 hour drive for me. The event was called Spirits of Christmas and had a spooky Christmas theme. This one was fun and challenging. I modified my booth to fit into the event better. I swapped the bright yellow for purple. I also made an alternate sign to help fit into the event even more. This was definitely a smaller event. I think there was an estimated 4,000 people that showed up. It was also the first time the event organizers did this event. But the crowd that showed up was there for cool spooky Christmas things and I think my art really connected with everyone. This was a 2 night event, so once it was over on Sunday, I packed up the booth and drove home. I think I would do this one again if I was given the opportunity. It was a lot of fun. It had a great theme. The crowd was great and I was able to sell a good amount of art.

The 3rd event I did was at the Lloyd Center Mall in Portland. This one was different. I took a small setup to an empty store space and put up all my art for sale. Then the people working there processed all the sales. The benefit of this event was that I didn’t have to be there. Once it was done, I just packed up my booth and headed home. This event ended up being kind of disappointing. There weren’t many sales so it felt like it wasn’t a good use of my time. But it was fun because the family and I made an event out of visiting one day. We hung out at the mall, did some ice skating got some food and visited a few shops.

Projects
One of the things that dominated November was a new batch of woodcuts. This also included wood sliced ornaments that I coated with resin. I made sure to document the process and now that events season is done, I can start putting together videos to share. In the mean time, you can check out all the new woodcuts in the shop.

That’s it for now. I have the wholesale side of the business that I need to rework and of course new videos to put together. So keep an eye out on Instagram and make sure to sign up for my newsletter. It’s the best way to keep in touch!
